The 28th Huron Fringe Birding Festival
will be held
May 22 to 25 and May 28 - 31, 2026
Online Registration will be active on March 13 at 6 am
A Birder's discount is available at the Travelodge Motel (50%) 519-832-2021 and the All Seasons Motel (10%) 519-389-2244, both in Port Elgin. Contact the motels directly to request the discount and advise you can show your registration confirmation at check-in.

Pick up a Huron Fringe Birding Festival Bird Checklist and check off your sightings on events you attend throughout the Festival. When you have tallied 100 species (or more) bring your checklist to the Registration Tent to collect your 100 Species Pin!
ALL-DAY EVENT participants will park, register and depart from the Campers Beach Parking Lot.
Most other events will start at the Visitor Centre. Generally, morning events return to the Visitor Centre by 11:00am; afternoon and all-day events return to their respective parking lots by 4:30pm (3:30pm on 1st Saturday);
events by 3:00 pm.
We also offer some mobility limited
events. This 🚗 indicates where vehicle transportation is required.
This ⭐ indicates a shortened event ending by 3:00pm.
Every day at the Visitor Centre – Early morning coffee & treats. BBQ lunches daily 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
NATURE SHOWCASE at the Visitor Centre 11:00 am (1st Saturday)

Youth (10-17) are welcome on Festival events (ages 10 -12 accompanied by an adult who is also registered for that event). Children under 10 are not allowed on Festival events.

FISHING ISLANDS ARCHIPELAGO 🚗
Leader: Lynne Richardson / Michael RuntzB12 8:15am - 4:30pmWe’ll bird and botanize our way to Evergreen Resort at Red Bay, have lunch at the lodge, then embark on an afternoon pontoon boat tour of the Fishing Islands. The islands are bursting with birds!
** $51 extra per person will be paid at the Resort **
Please note that the $51 (extra) payable at the Resort covers the lunch and boat fee, as well as a tip. Purchasing the lunch registers each person as a Resort guest and triggers insurance coverage for the boat tour.
