Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre
Rain dampening your camping trip? Check out the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre in Southampton. There's lots to do for kids (& adults too).
Canoeing
Canoe the Saugeen River. The Saugeen River originates in one of the highest points in southwestern Ontario and flows through rolling scenic countryside to Lake Huron, at Southampton. Although the route cuts across agricultural land, the heavy, mixed forest along the riverbanks blocks most farms from view. Check out the Saugeen River Canoe Route.
Lighthouse
Discover Chantry Island Lighthouse. Stroll back in time with a visit to the keeper's cottage, restored to its original 1800's condition, and decorated with period furnishings. Marvel at the wonders of nature with a walk around the cottage and surrounding gardens. View the protected bird sanctuary from the top of the lighthouse.
Hike the Bruce Trail
The Peninsula Bruce Trail Club (PBTC) is a charitable organization utilizing only volunteers to maintain, conserve and promote this stunningly beautiful section of the Bruce Trail between Wiarton and Tobermory.
